A man salmon fishing near Bristol Bay died Tuesday after he fell overboard from his gillnetter, the Alaska State Troopers and U.S. Coast Guard said.

George Brown, 35, of Anchorage was one of two men on board the 32-foot Dianne Carol, home ported in King Salmon and fishing near the Cinder River in the area of Pilot Point. The other crewmember on board noticed him missing when he woke up Tuesday morning.

A search-and-rescue mission started, and Brown's body was found floating at the mouth of the river Tuesday afternoon.

Pilot Point is 80 miles south of King Salmon and 370 miles southwest of Anchorage.
