Jason Heiser 9/15/98 Cann Lake Boater Drown Canoe Flips, Wasilla Teen Drowns ADN 9/17/98 A Wasilla teenager drowned when a canoe capsized in the Point MacKenzie area, Alaska State Trooper said.  Jason Heiser, 17, was canoeing Tuesday with two friends on Cann Lake when the canoe flipped over.  The friends made their way to shore.  Heiser's body was found about 45 minutes later in eight feet of water.  Troopers said medics tried to revive Heiser, but he was pronounced dead at Valley Hospital in Palmer.  Troopers said none of the teens was wearing life jackets.
